Cooking

Five kitchen tiers, four cooking grades, and dishes that extend a buff instead of overwriting it.

In short

Cooking gives back no resource: it turns a harvest into buff time. A dish is a buff with a duration, not a collectible.

The kitchen climbs five tiers. Each one adds a cooking slot and shortens the batch, which drops from 120 to 30 minutes.

Every batch is graded. There are Four grades: burnt, good, excellent, and sublime. The kitchen tier shifts the whole distribution upwards, and the share of sublime fruit poured into the batch decides the rest.

A sublime grade does not replace the running buff: it extends it. The duration adds up, the value takes the higher of the two, and the start date does not move.

Cooking also carries pet food. Out of six species, five eat a raw resource picked up on the map, and only one asks for a recipe.

The five kitchen tiers

Two axes climb together: how many batches run in parallel, and how fast each one is. Tier 5 makes five times more dishes in four times less time.

reference duration: 120 min
TIER
SLOTS
DURATION
RELATIVE THROUGHPUT
TIER 1
1
120 min
The baseline. One dish every two hours, one at a time.
TIER 2
2
90 min
About 2,7 times the throughput of tier 1. The first real jump.
TIER 3
3
60 min
6 times tier 1. The batch fits inside the hour, which lines it up with the hourly rhythm.
TIER 4
4
45 min
10,7 times tier 1. Slots become more limiting than duration.
TIER 5
5
30 min
20 times the throughput of tier 1. The maximum, and the tier where the farm struggles to keep up.

The grade distribution

The tier does more than speed things up: it shifts the whole distribution. Burnt drops from 20 % to 5 % of batches.

Stage 2 17 %70 %13 %30 %
Stage 3 25 %67 %8 %35 %
Stage 4 32 %62 %6 %40 %
Stage 5 40 %55 %5 %50 %
  • The sublime column is the top of the range: it holds for a fully sublime batch. A mixed batch lands between the two tables, in proportion to the sublime fruit it contains, with no threshold to cross.

What a sublime dish does

It is the only grade whose behaviour differs: it does not replace the active buff, it lengthens it.

1
The duration adds up
The end of the buff is pushed back by the new dish's duration, instead of being redefined.
2
The value takes the maximum
Eating a weaker dish never weakens a running buff: the stronger of the two values is what stays.
3
The start does not move
The start date is kept on purpose, because mana bonus windows are bounded between the start and the end.
4
Spoiling
An unclaimed dish spoils after seven days. Cooking ahead therefore has a limit.
  • Sublime is the last of the four grades, and the only rank table in the cooking system. Everything else, including the order of the three classic grades, derives from it.

The twelve dishes

Eleven buffs and one pet food. The effect column gives the value at the excellent grade: burnt is worth roughly a third, sublime about twice the burnt value.

  • The five skewers share the same effect and the same curve: what separates them is the station they target. The express one covers everything, the four others only count on their own, and are cooked with whatever the player's farm produces most.

Pet food

A recipe category of its own, which produces no buff for the player but something to fill a companion's hunger gauge.

five species
Eat raw
Carrot, wood, dirt or obsidian: out of the six species, nearly all feed on a resource picked up on the map, with no kitchen involved.
18 rations
Vegetal meat
Across the whole menagerie, one single species refuses raw resources, and that is the only reason to open this recipe category.
+35
Per meal
The hunger gauge climbs at every meal, capped at 100 points, with a 15 second cooldown between two.
  • Feeding a pet also pays 15 care experience, which makes cooking an indirect source of companion levels.
