Overview

The Farm is a whole new gameplay pillar. Grow crops, brew fertilizers, cook dishes, follow the Farmer's narrative side-quest and unlock up to 100 plots.

Everything auto-unlocks at launch โ€” no premium gating. The tutorial is baked into Act 1 of the side-quest.

Foraging Seeds

Forage is your seed gathering loop โ€” a mirror of >dig, with the same cooldown, that drops seeds instead of dirt.

  • Shares its cooldown with >dig โ€” every forage is a dig you didn't make.
  • Grants digger XP just like >dig.
  • Drop pool is seeds only: 1% global drop rate, 0.1% legendary.

Crops & Sublimes

Harvesting a crop yields its base resource (left) โ€” the raw ingredient used in cooking, fertilizers and quests. Each crop can also mutate into its rarer Sublime variant (right), a themed fruit with its own name and inventory stack, tradable separately.

When cooked, each Sublime ingredient grants +5% Excellent / โˆ’5% Burnt (stackable).

Plots & Expansion

One plot = one crop. The farm starts with a few free plots from Act 1.

  • Expansion is done via >farm expand and paid in dirt (the >dig / >forage resource) โ€” no endercoin involved.
  • Aggressive exponential scaling: ~100 dirt for plot 1, ~328 for plot 9, ~18k for plot 36, ~240M for plot 100.

Crop death โ€” prolonged lack of watering kills the plant (6h commons โ†’ 96h legendaries). A negative event ignored past its window also kills it. Even a ripe crop is not safe: if it dehydrates or stays diseased it rots before you can harvest. Death = total loss (seed + time), swept silently every hour โ€” you only notice on your next farm view.

Four farm stations power the loop. Each upgrade unlocks higher tiers and better recipes.

Stores and auto-regenerates water. Upgrade to keep your plots hydrated.

Witch pot that brews 10 fertilizers. T3 unlocks legendary recipes.

Cooks the 7 farm recipes. Tier raises slots and dish quality.

Water & Pump

Water plots manually with >water <tile> or >water all (free before the Pump). Crops only grow while hydrated โ€” if a tile dries out, growth pauses, it doesn't instantly die. The Pump Station automates water storage and regeneration across 5 tiers.

Each watering keeps a tile hydrated for 12h โ€” uniform for every seed โ€” so even the slowest crop only needs ~1-2 waterings a day. You can re-water an already-hydrated tile early to refresh the full 12h window (no banking). Once the Pump is built, watering costs 10 water per tile. When the window lapses the tile turns stressed, then dying, and 24h after expiry the crop dies and is lost โ€” re-water before then to resume growth.

Negative Events

Every hour the scheduler rolls per tile, per event, with a low chance โ€” most days, nothing happens.

The Green Shield fertilizer makes a tile fully immune to event rolls.
Cure an event before its window closes. An uncured event past its deadline destroys the crop โ€” seed and pending harvest both lost, silently, on the next hourly sweep.

Turn on the Farm โ€” Events auto-remind toggle (>cd โ†’ Farm tab, or >remindme autoremind) to get a DM before an event's cure window closes โ€” your cue to treat the tile before the crop dies.

Compost & Fertilizers

The Compost station brews 10 fertilizers across 3 tiers. Persistent effects stay on the tile and are consumed at harvest; instant effects fire once the moment you apply them. The two legendary recipes unlock at Compost T3.

+20% harvest yield, until harvest.

Vigor Sap T1

Instant: cuts 25% off the remaining growth time.

Rich Fertilizer T2

+50% harvest yield, until harvest.

Mutant Powder T2

+20 pts to Sublime chance at the harvest roll.

Regenerating Sap T2

Instant: clears the active event and refills the tile's water to Hydrated.

Hydrating Mist T2

Instant: re-hydrates the tile without drawing from the pump.

Royal Fertilizer T3

Combo: +50% yield and +15 pts Sublime chance, until harvest.

Green Shield T3

Immune to every negative event until harvest.

Abundance Elixir Legendary T3

Combo: +100% yield, +25 pts Sublime chance and โˆ’20% growth time.

Prismatic Crystal Legendary T3

+50 pts to Sublime chance at the harvest roll.

The Farmer Side-Quest

A 24-step narrative quest split into 3 acts plus an epilogue, integrated with the existing /quest command.

Act 1 โ€” Farmer's Tutorial (6 steps)

First seed, first watering, first harvest, first cook, first compost batch, first fertilizer applied.

Reward: 5 plots, starter seeds, witch pot starter, achievement "First Steps in the Fields".

Act 2 โ€” The Plague & The Journey (8 steps)

Craft pesticide, save the NPC's farm, forage in desert/forest/mine, discover Magic Bread.

Reward: cap 36, 5 plots, Prismatic Crystal, Regenerating Sap recipe, achievement "Saviour of the Fields".

Act 3 โ€” Narrative & Mastery (10 steps)

Blazefruit expedition, multi-crisis with 5 events, 5 Excellent dishes, Compost T3 + Abundance Elixir, Voidpepper, endgame Feast, 7 days with no crop death, harvest 100 fruits in one session.

Reward: cap 100, 10 plots, Hydrating Mist, permanent access to Endgame Feast, achievement "Master Farmer".

Epilogue

Auto-triggers 1โ€“2 days after Act 3 โ€” exclusive cosmetic badge on profile + achievement "The Farmer's Epilogue".

Achievements

A new AchievementGroup.FARMER bundle ships 50 achievements across base, harvest, sublime, questline and themed tracks.

  • 15 base achievements: pump/kitchen/compost levels, fruits harvested, sublimes, dishes cooked, fertilizers brewed, plots owned, events saved, forage count.
  • 10 harvest-per-species tracks โ€” one tier per seed.
  • 10 sublime-per-species tracks, hidden until tier 1 is unlocked.
  • farmer_questline โ€” 4 tiers (Act 1 โ†’ Act 2 โ†’ Act 3 โ†’ Epilogue).
